In Germany, it is now prohibited to carry out preservation measures on roofs containing asbestos. Your trade supervisory office or the office for occupational health and safety is responsible for issuing exemption permits. Details are regulated by the current TRGS519.
In addition to bituminous roofing, roofing with asbestos-cement products has been frequently used over the past 40 years. Minimal requirements on the statics of the roof structure and rational large-area roofing have made this system the most cost-effective roofing solution.
In the meantime, the material asbestos cement has been banned from general construction by updating the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances. Since the beginning of the 80's, the comparable but asbestos-free panels have been on the market.
Our experience has shown that the new, asbestos-free boards are softer than their asbestos-containing equivalent. Therefore, there is now a need for renovation here - with polyurethane roof spray foam.
After the market with well asbestos roofs has disappeared for us as a specialist company for roof renovation in Germany, we are very pleased that the market with asbestos-free fiber cement roofs has now followed seamlessly. The conditions are comparable: there is a lack of thermal insulation and the roofs leak in the overlaps and at the fastenings.
Complete overfoaming, as used in the past with corrugated asbestos, brings the solution here as well. In the long term!
We achieve any desired insulation value with the foaming by variable insulation thickness and thereby naturally comply with the current energy saving regulation EnEV. The insulating material polyurethane roof spray foam is eligible for subsidies due to its approval by the building authorities. With "FprEN 14315" for spray foam, the European Union has now created a standard for Europe that harmonizes the process.
